The Charlotte Tigers U19 team won the Golden Boot challenge trophy by beating their rivals from South Carolina, Chapin, in a two-game series.
The Tigers won the opening game 32-7, and Saturday capped off the series with a 27-10 victory. In the second game, both teams opted to use several 2nd-siders.
The series, said Charlotte Head Coach Riaan Van Schalkwyk, has been played for seven years and he praised the camaraderie between the two teams.
Next up for Charlotte is a non-conference game against Phoenix Alpharetta from Georgia.
