D1AA Games: Time to Hold On Tight
So we separated the DIAA games from the D1A and NCR D1 because now that we're into the conference schedule there's less crossover with the other divisions, and we've also got a lot going on.
Having said that, while there are quite a few games going on, very few, strangely, are ranked-vs-ranked games.
D1 College Gamebreakers To Wrap Up September
It's been interesting to see how teams and players step up in cross-divisional games and more challenging games.
How a player steps into the fray when playing a team that is heavily favored or a big challenge is how we, over time, find special competitors. We do have some standouts in blowout games, but it's the close games we notice more.
Cincinnati Stays in the Mix in the MAC
Don't look now but University of Cincinnati is 3-1 in the MAC.
In a conference that looks to be pretty competitive even including the teams who haven't won games, there does appear to be an almighty race for playoff spots. Louisville (3-0) and Bowling Green (3-0), are certainly secure (and they meet up October 21), and Western Michigan is still around at 2-1.
Into The Meat of the Fall in D1 Games This Weekend
We're capping off September and we're pretty much done with warmups and testing ourselves.
Now we're in the meat of the fall season.
Kansas Jayhawks Make a Move
Kansas State's shutout win over Arkansas put many in the Heart of America on notice but a week late KSU got a notice of their own after Kansas beat them 34-12.
For the Jayhawks, this was a fairly important showing because KSU had already shown themselves to be a force to be reckoned with.
