Bowling Green remains top dog in the MAC after a 67-5 defeat of Central Michigan Friday.
CMU were able to hold off BGSU for long periods in the first half, but the stress of constantly defending the Falcon attack cost them. Bowling Green scored two tries just at the end of the first half to lead 34-0.
BGSU scored two tries in the first six minutes of the second half, and cruised from there.
Hooker Phil Bryant scored three tries, as did scrumhalf Mitch Sora.
Western Michigan got their first standings victory with a 61-22 defeat of Ball State to go 1-0 in the North,
Meanwhile Dayton moved to 2-0 in the South with a 48-0 shutout of Louisville. Center Seamus Morgan scored two tries, as did wing Davis Arnold. Jake Houk, Bryce Johnson, and Joe Ginley also touched down in the victory.
Miami beat Northern Illinois 36-17 in a non-standings match with Ben Drellishak and Richard McClosky scoring two tries each.
And counting in the standings was Cincinnati’s 33-24 defeat of Ohio. Jimmy Forde, Shane Sullivan, Derek Jackson, Anthony Parente, and Jesse Morgan all scored tries for the Bearcats. Vincent Hahn scored two for Ohio.
