The US Military Academy Black Knights scored three late tries to turn 27-24 nailbiter into a 46-36 victory over Penn State Friday night in Pennsylvania.
Army remains undefeated in 11 Rugby East games going back through last season; they are 4-0 on conference play this fall and ranked #1 by Goff Rugby Report.
DI College Games This Weekend
Big games this weekend in Men's DI, with the Fall #1 Army playing at the Fall #3 Friday night. We've previewed that game, as well as #11 Air Force at #9 Navy.
Indiana has a job to do at Michigan, while will be tough, and Bowling Green has to bounce back in hosting Kent State, which they should do.
Friday Night Clash for Army, Penn State
Two 3-0 teams face off tonight in the Rugby East, with Penn State hosting Army at University Park.
Both teams come in with new head coaches - although at least Matt Sherman has been on the job for some weeks at West Point; Penn State’s new guy, Blake Burdette, has been in town only since Monday.
SWC Starts with Confident UNT
The Southwest Conference kicks off this weekend with defending champion North Texas looking very solid.
UNT is coming off a win in the pre-season Texas Cup competition, defeating Texas Tech in the quarterfinals, a tough Baylor team in the semis, and then St. Edward’s in the final 40-36.
