Empire Looks Wide Open as Season Starts
The Empire Conference kicks off league play this weekend with the top teams of recent years having been stung somewhat.
Syracuse was shut out by Buffalo a couple of weeks ago, albeit in a game where the Hammerheads had a good amount of possession and good field position. Syracuse will host Fordham on Sunday.

Former Kings Point Player Dies in Helicopter Crash
Former United States Merchant Marina Academy rugby player Adam Satterfield was one of two US Marines killed Friday in a helicopter crash during a training exercise.
Satterfield was a standout lock forward for Kings Point, graduating from the Academy in 2011.
Stony Brook Takes 1st in Empire
Stony Brook won the clash of undefeated teams in the Empire Rugby Conference as they defeated Kings Point 30-12 Friday evening.
Stony Brook started well in the early going and led 10-0 before Kings Point scored to make it 10-7. But Stony Brook pulled away with two tries to make it 17-7.
