Aircraft Carter Solutions PoW - Conor Schilling
In Davenport’s victory over highly-regarded Bowling Green last week, flanker Conor Schilling was a standout.
The 5-11, 205 West Ottawa, Mich. product, who also plays hooker, was a wrecking crew on defense, and covered the field shoring up the Panther defense all day.
Aircraft Charter Solutions PoW - Michael Marro
Iona College put Michael Marro on the wing last weekend and gave him one job - shadow St. Bonaventure’s towering Greg Johnson.
Now, that’s a big job for a freshman in any situation - worry about one of the other team’s weapons and make sure he doesn’t hurt you - but consider also that Johnson is 6-5 and 210 pounds, while Marro is 5-10 (most of that hair) and 165 pounds.
Women's College Player of the Week: Beth Rose
The Penn State vs. Norwich women’s game last weekend was replete with highlight-reel action, so it’s no surprise that the Aircraft Charter Solutions Women’s College Player of the Week came out of that bout. Penn State prop Beth Rose stood out among the field, and for the reasons one might not expect.
Player of the Week - Wes Parker
If you research where most top American rugby players come from you will start to see some states mentioned repeatedly; one you won’t see often is Kentucky.
But Wes Parker is looking to be one of those rare Kentuckians that makes it big in rugby, and perhaps boosts the sport in the Bluegrass State in the process.
Player of the Week - Anna Aguon
During the Girls bracket of the Serevi Cup HS 7s tournament earlier this month, you couldn’t help but notice the speed and skill of the Rugby Oregon team - their teamwork and athleticism got them to the final, where they fell 5-0 to Apex.
