Morris Clinches First-Ever State Title in New Jersey
Morris won its first ever New Jersey state HS club title over the weekend, beating Union 34-17 to get there.
Facing a very big and physical Union side, Morris went into the game with a specific game plan:
Make the Union forwards chase the game all over the field;
Emphasize quick ball from the rucks and quick use of that quick ball;
Charlotte Cardinals Take Gonzaga Classic Girls Tournament
The Charlotte Cardinals won the inaugural girls bracket at the Gonzaga Classic, putting an impressive stamp on the competition by beating Morris in the final.
But they weren't the only team that showed well, as the girls teams showed that bringing them into the Gonzaga Classic was a very good idea.
East Coast HS Action: Fairfield, Morris, Fort Hunt
Siena College served as neutral-site hosts for Fairfield Prep (Conn.) and Canisius (NY).
It was a big win for Fairfield as they ran out 65-0 winners. Charles Dooley, Nick Vittoria, and Wally Wuchiski all scored two tries each.
Four Play in NJ for Round-Robin
Christian Brothers of New Jersey hosted a round-robin of shortened games over the weekend, with with local rivals Union and Morris, plus Rugby PA side Berks County, facing off.
