LCA, Herriman Show Well at Puriri Tournament
Your big winners coming out of the Puriri Tournament seem to be Herriman and Layton Christian Academy.
Those two teams are certainly two of the major state contenders this year, along with defending state champs East HS. While East faltered a little, it's important to remember that the Puriri Tournament, while competitive, is still a warmup tournament.
HSNC Single-School Roundup: Top Seeds Strong
The top seeds generally played like it at the Boys HS National Championships single-school bracket.
The only lower seed to win was St. Edward, and that was in the matchup of #4 and #5.
Herriman Pulls Away from Rivals East HS In a meeting of the two very strong single-school teams in Utah, Herriman defeated East HS 49-34 Wednesday night in Salt Lake City. The new (and temporary, for this year only) league structure in Utah meant that this was the first regular season game for either team against another single school.
Herriman, East to Face Off in Utah School Final
Herriman and East HS will meet in the Utah Youth Rugby school final next week after both won semifinals over the weekend.
These two teams met in the regular season on April 8 with East pulling out a 29-27 victory, so the final promises to be hotly contested.

It was a good showing from East, who hit Herriman hard and fast and who also kept out of the penalty trouble that has sometimes plagued them.
