This year's NCR women's D1 playoffs were a drastic departure from the previous years.
With the addition of a completely new program, the influx of a growing new program, and the appearance of previously-CRAA conferences, the landscape was always going to be different.

As summer is the time for pathway teams it’s worth remembering that elite rugby prospects can come from all over.
And what elite prospects have that make them elite is a combination is athleticism, physical characteristics that make success easier, a desire to learn, and a desire to compete.
How did they do it?
How did Northeastern hold a team that had scored 53 points against Air Force and 45 against UConn to just one try? Northeastern secured the CRAA Women D1 championship by stifling perhaps the division’s most electric attack.
