Influential Coach, Mentor Murra Dies Suddenly
Longtime University of Northern Iowa women's coach Steve Murra died Saturday, Feb. 20, he was 47.
Murra coached at UNI for 21 years, winning two national championships and multiple Midwest titles, before stepping down at the end of last season to spend more time with his family. At the time of his stepping down, Murra said in a Facebook post:

Saturday UNI shut out Loyola 33-0 despite missing five starters to move to 4-0 and remain in a tie with Lindenwood-Belleville at the top of the WIIL South.
Iowa State Beats Longtime Power UNI
Last year, Iowa State and Northern Iowa kicked off the DI Midwest season with a single-digit decision, which went to longtime regional champ UNI. On Saturday, the Cyclones more than closed the gap and overcame Northern Iowa 36-5.
