Over 100 South All-Stars for Vegas
Two All-Star organizations, USA Rugby South and the Tennessee Tri-Stars, will combine efforts to form nine teams for the Las Vegas Invitational next week.
After months of camps and events the teams are set for the LVI 7s tournaents that will begin Thursday, March 2. The South/Tri-Stars contingent will include over 100 players and a touring party of about 300.
All-Star Rugby 2017 - a Rundown
USA Rugby has selected four host venues for the High School-level Regional Cup Tournaments in the summer.
One more venue will be announced later.
The four venues are:
South Regional Cup, Life University, Marietta, Ga. June 16-18
Rocky Mountain Challenge, Aurora, Colo. June 17-18
Midwest Regional Cup, Fishers, Ind., June 24-25
South Panthers Look to Vegas
The USA Rugby South Panthers select side program is holding an open tryout for the teams set to play in the Las Vegas Invitational in March.
This will be for the Boys HS Elite and Girls HS Elite 7s brackets at the LVI, and will serve as the opening round in the North American HS 7s elite-level series.
Youth & HS Issues - Select Sides
Goff Rugby Report is still fielding comments regarding youth and high school rugby - comments USA Rugby is soliciting to help formulate a plan for the future.
We will be posting a few more comments in a bit, and addressing some of the player-coaching issues in the future, also. But today we will address the issue of select sides on the youth level.
Tryouts for Busy 2017 for South U19s
The USA Rugby South U19 Panthers program has announced tryouts for 7s and 15s events in 2017.
The 7s program will compete in the North American HS 7s (NASH 7s) events in Las Vegas (the LVI) and the NAI 7s in Salt Lake City later in the summer. More tournaments will be added later.
