Charlotte Catholic to the Top of Two Leagues
Charlotte Catholic defeated rivals Union County 28-10 Friday night to move to 6-0 i the Mid-South Independent Rugby League, and and 8-0 in North Carolina's Open league.
Catholic is in excellent shape now to win the MSIRL, and after dropping Union County to 7-1 in North Carolina (as well as 7-1 in the MSIRL), they are in good shape to be 1st in the regular season, too.
Charlotte Catholic Wins Big One
Charlotte Catholic squared off against the Charlotte Tigers in a Friday night match this past weekend, securing and important win for the NC Open and MSIRL leagues.
The two teams are participants in both leagues and the matches are being counted in both leagues.
North Carolina Latest - Teams Make a Move
The Union County Lions defeated the Chapel Hill Highlanders 36-24 this past weekend to move to 5-0 and settle into a tie with Charlotte Catholic at the top of North Carolina’s HS Club standings.
Catholic, which is a single-school team that plays in the club competition because they believe it’s tougher, beat the North Raleigh Redhawks 50-22 to move to 5-0 as well.
North Carolina Latest - Packed at the Top
Both Boys HS leagues in North Carolina are tight at the top as three or four in each league are pushing for 1st place.
In the single-school league in North Carolina, which includes 12 teams, Myers Park beat the Ardrey Kell Knights 31-14 to move to 5-0. Three teams - South Meck Sabres, WA Hough Huskies, and Providence Panthers - are 4-1.
Union County Downs Charlotte Tigers
The Union County Lions defeated the Charlotte Tigers 32-15 in a huge North Carolina and MSIRL clash.
Both teams went into the game unbeaten, and both teams were missing players due to this being an SAT exam weekend. While this was a North Carolina Youth Rugby league game, it was also part of the new Mid-South Independent Rugby League (MSIRL).
