University of Rhode Island prop forward Darryl Brooks was in intense competition this past weekend, but it wasn’t in rugby.
On Sunday in San Antonio, Texas, Brooks competed in the NCAA Powerlifting Championships. A big, powerful prop, Brooks competed in the 1
20-kg-plus division. He logged a squat of 270kg, a bench press of 155kg, and a dead lift of 250kg.
New DIA Conference to Shake Up College Leagues
A new three-division conference is being formed for the 2017-18 DIA college season, with an eye toward localizing certain competitions and keeping teams that want to play only in the fall together.

Norwich Clinches NECRC
The Norwich University men's rugby team remained undefeated (7-0) with a convincing 39-12 victory over NECRC rival University of Vermont.
The Cadets' victory clinched the NECRC 2016 Conference Championship and gives them an automatic bid to the USA Division II Collegiate Rugby National round of 16.
