GRR: West Point
BYU defeated West Point 71-10 Thursday night in Provo, Utah.
WEST POINT, N.Y. (Army Sports Release) – A first half explosion that led to the Army West Point men’s rugby team heading into the locker room with a 34-0 advantage set the tone for the Black Knights’ 56-5 victory over Dartmouth from Anderson Rugby Complex on Saturday.
Coming off a close loss to Navy, Dartmouth has to feel like things are looking up as the Big Green faces West Point this weekend.
Air Force Academy pulled off something of an upset Friday in Colorado Springs, defeating Army 31-25 in the second game of the Commander-in-Chief Trophy series.
Air Force has played both of the team’s games in the series, having lost 28-0 at Navy. Army and Navy finish off the series in the New Year. With Navy 1-0, Air Force 1-1, Army 0-1, all three teams could still win it.
Kutztown University defeated West Point 39-26 Saturday at Kutztown, dropping Army to 4-2 in the Rugby East and putting Kutztown up to 5-0.
The game was intensely physical and very tight for most of the game, but a sterling effort from the Kutztown forwards saw the Bears survive.
