GRR: Strake Jesuit
In a midweek cross-boarder game, Strake Jesuit edged Brother Martin 12-10 on Wednesday.
New Orleans Jesuit, Strake Jesuit, and Dallas Jesuit all won in the Texas/Louisiana Cup this week.
For New Orleans defeated St. Thomas out of Houston 36-12 in a nice bounce-back after last week's non-conference loss to Florida club Okapi. After the Okapi loss Head Coach Adam Massey had said there were some positives to take away from the game.
Snow and cold weather hit a few parts of the country not ued to it, so we had a few cancelations and postponements.
The Louisiana teams battled through some snow, although we did have one game moved to later because of the snow. Bless their hearts down there in the bayou but they don't really have the resources to handle a snowstorm.
Dallas Jesuit won the Texas/Louisiana Varsity Cup final Saturday night, defeating Strake Jesuit 27-14 to take the title and end their season undefeated.
The game was, at one point, 27-0, but two late Strake tries made it a little closer. In some sense, it was only right, as the game always seemed closer than 27-0.
Strake Jesuit defeated St. Thomas 50-10 Tuesday evening to round out the Texas/Louisiana Varsity Cup playoff bracket.
With a couple of seniors unavailable for the game, Strake had to pull Jackson Hebert into the starting scrumhalf position. Hebert excelled on the day and even capped off the day at flyhalf.
