Ohio rivals St. Edward and St. Ignatius met Thursday night in the first of what is likely to be at least two, and maybe more meetings this season, and St. Edward ran away with a convincing 31-5 victory.
These two teams battle each other each year and the game are usually very close. Not so this time around, as St. Ed's scored five tries and had a handful called held-up in-goal.
St. Edward left the University of Kentucky High School Showcase 2-0 on the varsity level and 4-0 overall, beating South Doyle and Ravenwood.
St. Ed’s beat South Doyle 55-0 on Saturday, paced by Elijah Warfield's two tries, and their JVs won 53-0 over South Doyle’s Bs. On Sunday, St. Edward’s JVs were victorious again, and then in the varsity game, St. Edward beat Ravenwood 31-3.
The University of Kentucky is hosting a meeting of four HS teams, two from Tennessee, and one each from Ohio and Indiana.
