GRR: Mountain View
The West ADA Girls 7s league is moving along in Idaho, and while we Eagle remains a tough team to fly with, Mountain View is flying almost as high; one reason for that is Avery Morgan.
Mountain View bounced back from a 1-1 start to beat upstarts Owyhee in Week 2 and Centennial and Rocky Mountain in Week 3 to improve to 4-1. (Eagle is 5-1 after beating Owyhee and Meridian this week).
Mountain View improved to 4-0 in the Idaho Girls 15s league, but it was a hard-won trek to 4-0.
The Meridian, Idaho team seemed to be breezing through the season early on, beating local rivals Meridian HS 62-12 in their opener and handling Eagle 27-17 and Rocky Mountain 29-14. But injuries were piling up.
Surprises all around as Rugby Idaho completed its girls fall 7s season.
JVRocky Mountain Purple started the season on September 8, beating Rocky Mountain Black 29-5 in the first game of the entire season, but then struggled to retain that form, finishing the regular season 4-8.
Mountain View and Rocky Mountain are battling each other until the bitter end in Rugby Idaho's girls 7s league.
Mountain View HS has to be feeling pretty good after a solid week in the Rugby Idaho Girls HS 7s, as the programs ended up in a virtual tie for 1st in the JV league and in 1st place outright among the Varsity teams.
Sure there's plenty of rugby left in the fall, but with the next round of games coming up on Saturday, all eyes will be on how anyone can take Mountain View down.
