GRR: Lindenwood
Air Force defeated Cal Poly 43-17 Saturday in Moraga, Calif. to move on to a DIA quarterfinals Sunday against St. Mary’s.
The game was postponed from last week due to snow in Colorado, and Air Force traveled to Northern California at short notice to play two games in two days.
We're down to nine teams (not eight), in the DIA playoffs.
Lindenwood put an injury-slammed Wheeling Jesuit to the sword Saturday, beating the Cardinals 89-5. Michael Baska scored three and set up at least two more. Deion Mikesell scored two, and fullback Lungi Tshuma scored 32 points on nine conversions, three penalty goals, and a try. Ashley Harrop also scored twice for the Lions.
It’s a quick turnaround from the regular season to the DIA playoffs, but the first round is indeed upon us this coming weekend.
Eight teams enter the playoffs from all over the country, and all with some significant game-hardening behind them. Here’s a look:
Life University clinched 1st in the Mid-South Saturday, but it wasn’t exactly easy.
Playing their first conference game on the road, the Running Eagles needed some last-second heroics to score in the final seconds to win the game.
Davenport and Lindenwood met up Saturday for the Labry Memorial Shield game between the two teams.
