GRR: DII College
The MARC had its surprises in the first round of the conference's men's D2 college playoffs.
After GRR went out on a limb saying Scranton was the team to beat in last week's video, and then #8 seed Towson promptly took up the challenge. It was a hard-nosed game and Towson was certainly up for it.
Not too many surprises in Men's D2 college action this weekend.
Virginia beat Hampden-Sydney 77-15, which was a very different result from the first time these two teams faced off. Two weeks ago these two teams tied, but UVA fielded a less experienced lineup for that game.
Big games in men's D2 college are as follows:
New Hampshire at Vermont. Northwestern at Chicago. Whitewater vs Marquette. Towson vs Salisbury. Weber State at Montana State.
A little look at key D2 games around the nation.
Grand Valley State remains in solid form after their 57-5 defeat of one of their perennial rivals, Central Michigan.
The Great Lakes looks to be GVSU's to lose.
Bloomsburg laid down a bit of a marker this weekend, beating rivals Bucknell to perhaps stake their claim as one of the top Men’s DII college teams in the MARC.
Bloomsburg took the game 26-17 in a game that was a battle through all 80 minutes.
