Despite not really getting close to winning their conference, some California D1A teams reached important milestones this season.
It wasn't easy but Navy got out of Emmetisburg, Md. with a win over Mount St. Mary's Saturday.
Central Washington defeated BYU in Provo Saturday to put the Wildcats at 5-2 and drop the Cougars to 6-3.
It was a snowy day in Provo ... OK it was very snowy ... OK, it was basically a blizzard.
Mack Fell scored a try midway through the second half to put Cal ahead 24-12 and the Golden Bears held on to beat Army 24-19 Saturday in Berkeley.
“We appreciate Army visiting us and we will look forward to returning the fixture at West Point next spring,” Cal Head Coach Jack Clark said.
