GRR: Atlantis
Atlantis won the Boys HS Open 7s Friday at the Las Vegas Invitational, defeating British Columbia’s 2nd team in the final.
Atlantis won their pool, going 3-0, and then ran the table on Day Two. They defeated South Side Irish 17-7 in the quarterfinals, and then hammering Littleton 28-7 in the semis.
Atlantis continues to grow, and later this week, the first-ever Girls U16 team will debut at the Las Vegas Invitational (Feb. 12-14). Twelve players hailing mostly from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York (with Colorado, Virginia and Wisconsin getting a representative apiece) will don the aquamarine and compete in the Girls High School 7s division.
The Atlantis U16 boys select side has named its squad for the Las Vegas Invitational. The team is made up entirely of 15-year-old high school players, most from the Mid-Atlantic states.
Among the list is 7s prop Chase Schor Haskin, who was a participant in the High School All American winter camp. He plays for Weston HS in Florida.
The Atlantis select-side program has named its Boys U19 squad for the Las Vegas Invitational Boys HS Elite 7s.
The Atlantis Women are veterans of the Las Vegas Invitational, both in the Open and Elite 7s divisions, but that doesn’t mean the team lacks surprises. The Elite team has, as per usual, paired former 7s Eagles with up-and-comers, and some of these new players have a unique background.
