The Herriman HS Gold team has won the first two tournaments of the Utah Youth Rugby 7s series, setting themselves up nicely for the next two events.

The University of Victoria won the WWU 7s Sunday, going 4-0 on the day.

Gonzaga University did very well to finish 2nd, while UBC took 3rd.

The WWU 7s was to feature three pools of three teams each. However, some late cancelations turned it into an eight-team, two-pool event. The top teams from each pool made the final.

THe stage is set for one of the first college 7s tournaments of the season, with Western Washington University hosting the WWU 7s Sunday in Bellingham, Wash.

Nine teams will compete in the competition, which has a fairly simple format that guarantees all teams four games.

The Atlantis Rugby Corporation will host an Individual Testing and Open Rugby Sevens Camp for High School Boys/Girls, on Sunday, October 9, 2016 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The camp will be valuable for novice and experienced players alike and is open to any male or female player registered with USA Rugby.

The USA Men's 7s team kicks off the 2016-17 Sevens World Series season in Pool B of the Dubai 7s with South Africa, Scotland, and the 16th team to be determined.

Rugby sevens returns after its debut in the Olympic Games, with Gold Medalists Fiji drawn in a tough pool with Argentina, Canada, and Wales.
