High School Boys
Regis Jesuit defeated Palmer HS in convincing fashion on Wednesday evening 51-19 to improve to 4-0 in the Colorado Interscholastic Rugby Association.
It was a impressive showing by Regis, but Head Coach Anthony Mattacchione said the score somewhat flattered his team. Palmer, he said. ""are a physical team and the wear and tear of 70 minutes showed on both sides."
As we said last week, the past weekend was a time for games with ramifications for Nationals seedings, but it was more than that, with state leagues coming to a climax and teams making comebacks.
Here's who performed well this week:
Rugby Colorado is marching toward its playoffs.
Boys were we close to pushing St. Ignatius to #1 after the Wildcats beat Gonzaga, and, frankly, we don't have an especially compelling reason why we didn't.
Pelham HS improved to 3-1 in New York with a convincing 86-14 defeat of the Harvey School.
