GRR: Cal Poly
Scoring 10 points in the final minute of regulation, Cal Poly came back to secure a thrilling victory over UCLA Saturday in Los Angeles to throw GRR’s D1A rankings and the D1A playoff seedings into a little bit of turmoil.
Cal Poly pushed Saint Mary's in a rather surprising meeting of the top two teams in the California D1A Conference, but the Gaels held on 43-38.
The game started well for the Gaels. They moved into Cal Poly territory and spun it wide to freshman Aisake Tukuafu, who sped in to touch down. Ollie Cline slotted the extras and it was 7-0.
As the teams took the field for Cal Poly at Central Washington, CPSLO Head Coach Chris O'Brien looked around and said to himself that the conditions were perfect; then then snow came.
There are a few chases on in the California D1A Conference, and this weekend pointed out some of them.
Cal Poly and UC Santa Barbara both won over the weekend in California D1A action and that matters for both of them.
