Out there in the state too many think is actually another country, out there where high school rugby has worked hard, scratching at the sandstone to get a foothold, there is, indeed, rugby for kids.
So it was in May that the Rio Rancho Rebels defeated the La Cueva Bears 22-17 to win the New Mexico Boys HS championship game.

It's a busy weekend around the country in Boys HS rugby, as some leagues are getting started, and others heading into playoff-decision time; here's a look:
Albuquerque, NM – The University of New Mexico Men’s Rugby Football Club (UNM) will host the Indigenous Australian Invitational Rugby (IAIR) U20 team for a first ever match between both teams on November 9th, 2015 at 6:00pm.
The Mountain West got underway last weekend and saw the league favorites register big wins. New Mexico traveled to Colorado State and posted a 57-7 victory, while DI spring finalist BYU shut out Air Force 76-0.
