Canadian International, Rock Rugby Coach Dies In Car Accident
Former Canadian international and Rocky Rugby coach in Texas, Todd Knight, died December 30, 2020 in a car accident.
According to reports Knight was traveling in his car alone in very bad weather and his car struck a utility pole and flipped. No other cars were involved.
Rock Rugby Hosts Academy Camp
Rock Rugby is hosting a player and coaching camp in Round Rock, Texas this weekend.
Tonight, Friday, is the Coach Development camp, open to all ages and costing $20, followed by a player ID session for the Rock Rugby Academy touring team.
Rock Rugby Starts Off Strong On Southern Trip
Rocky Rugby out of Texas took a preseason trip across the South earlier this month, facing two defending state champions.
The Austin-area team faced Georgia state champions Phoenix Alpharetta and then Louisiana state champs Jesuit of New Orleans. In frigid temperatures in Georgia, Rocky defeated Phoenix 31-12 at the Life University grounds in Marietta. Phoenix won the B-side game.
Westlake Leads in Texas, But Who Chases?
The Rugby Texas North/Central Conference may well come down to this week as Lake Travis and Rocky Rugby meet up Thursday to basically decide who will finish 2nd.
Westlake has already beaten both of these teams, albeit by razor-thin scores of 12-7 and 15-12.
