Marvin Ridge, Hough, and Myers Park all recorded wins over the weekend in North Carolina’s boys school league.
With Marvin Ridge and Hough winning, that sets up a midweek game between those two in a repeat of the 2022-23 final, which Marvin Ridge won.
It will be Charlotte Catholics vs South Meck in the Carolinas School final next week.
South Meck, the #1 seed, cruised into the final after Ardrey Kelly was unable to field a full side and had to forfeit. Meanwhile, Charlotte Catholic controlled the issue against Myers Park, leading 17-3 at halftime and winning 38-8.
South Meck won a high-profile clash with rivals Myers Park on Friday evening, shutting out Myers Park 15-0 on a warm and dry, but windy, evening on the turf of the Matthews Sportsplex.
Myers Park defeated Ardrey Kell in impressive fashion to move to 2-1 in the Carolinas Boys Single School Division.
The only loss for Myers Park was against Charlotte Catholic. In this game captain and No. 8 Tye Mendenhall was a powerful presence, testing defenses with strong carries, while scrumhalf Tyler Palm kept the tempo up.
In North Carolina, the single-school teams now know who is in the final, and the open club teams know who is in the semis.
Among the single-school teams, Fort Myers defeated South Meck 43-19 Friday night for the right to play in the North Carolina state championship.
The Fort Myers Mustangs went into the semifinal 6-2 in the regular season, while the Sabres were also 6-2.
