GRR: NIRA Women
Poughkeepsie, NY—In a clash of two of the top lower-division women's college teams from two different competitions, Bowdoin College defeated Vassar College 26-17.
In dramatic and emotional fashion Brown University held off a determined Quinnipiac 26-20 in women’s NIRA action Saturday.
The victory put Brown at 3-1-1 in the National Intercollegiate Rugby Association DI, good for 3rd behind Harvard and Dartmouth.
Dartmouth and Harvard both won big to set themselves up for a highly-anticipated clash in two weeks, a clash that could well be a NIRA DI final preview.
Harvard got four tries from freshman PK Vincze and two from Sabrina Kim, who continues a four-game scoring streak.
Two games headline the women's slate of college games this weekend.
Harvard gets a stern test and then a week off in the Women’s National Intercollegiate Rugby Association (NIRA) league, and that’s good timing as the Crimson prepares to face Dartmouth October 23.
For the defending NIRA champion Crimson (they won it all in 2019 and there was no NIRA season in 2020), this is exactly what they want as they think about another championship.
