Xavier HS of NY defeated Connecticut-based Aspetuck over the weekend in a well-played clash of two teams with national championship aspirations.

Staples HS produced a big result in Connecticut, getting by a very tough Aspetuck team 16-14.
The game was described as a slugfest by Staples Head Coach Neal Seideman. For a young Aspetuck team, they found themselves relying on speedster Pearson Hill once more but they needed more than one or two players to defeat the state's top teams.
A week after pushing Gonzaga close Vienna defeated Aspetuck in impressive fashion 20-7.
On a wet, rainy day (OK, it's the spring of 2023, just assume it was wet, rainy, windy, or possibly sleet and hail in every game) ... on a wet, rainy day Vienna played some inspired defense.
Aspetuck defeated Xavier 26-12 in a big win for the Connecticut team.
After a couple of tough results in which they were missing some key leaders, Aspetuck bounced back with a strong performance.
