GRR: Herriman
This is NOT the final School-team ranking of the year, but it's close.
We have some games still to come, mainly the MIAA playoffs in Massachusetts, but this is generally how we will finish up. As always, games in the HS National Championships carry extra weight, and it's possible a result in there can memory-hole an earlier result.
The Boys HS National Championships sparkled at the end, especially with the Herriman vs St. Ignatius single-school final.
Herriman lost a lead and gained it back to win in dramatic fashion 22-17 after losing the last two finals on the final play. In doing so, Herriman overcame a skilled, smart, and enormously brave St. Ignatius team in the program’s first National Championship.
Herriman and Olympus have been on a collision course since the start of the 2021 season, earning the #1 and #2 seeds in all three age groups (7/8, 9/10, and Varsity) coming in to the Utah Youth Rugby state tournament.
Chugging along in Utah Youth Rugby's league, two very powerful teams continue on their winning ways.
Herriman high school's game this past weekend was snowed out, but that was far from the worst news of the week for the team.
The program's trailer, which held equipment and kit worth about $12,000 was stolen from its parking space at Copper Mountain Middle School in Herriman, Utah.
