GRR: Big 10 Conference
The Big Ten regular season wraps up this weekend with four teams looking ahead to a potential championship game.
But nothing is set in stone even with just one game left.
Notre Dame got a nice boost heading into the Big Ten championship this weekend, defeating Michigan 22-0 in a wet, physical game. The Irish finish the regular season 4-1, losing only to Penn State and unable to reschedule its game against Indiana. The latter are traditionally the top two teams in the conference and have committed to the DI Elite championship in the spring.
Indiana remains on top of the Big Ten after hammering Michigan State 64-3, and got some good news (for IU) when the two teams trying to catch them, Wisconsin and Ohio State, tied 18-18.
Reigning DI champion Penn State capped its Big Ten regular season with a 60-12 win over Indiana on Sunday, and takes the top seed into the conference championship on Nov. 7-8. The victory came a day after the team’s 29-14 win over the Pittsburgh Angels, the former DII club champion and a DI semifinalist last spring.
Indiana University got tries from Teddy Terezis and Alex Dorrier, and a conversion and two penalty goals from Terezis to help Indiana come back from a 14-3 deficit to beat #7 Davenport 18-17.
