There are 56 girls HS-age teams in the Tropical 7s this weekend.

The biggest bracket is the U18 Girls Open, with 24 teams, including upto a third of them being Canadian. 

The U16 Girls bracket includes 20 teams with about 40% being Canadian, and teams from Newfoundland, Idaho, British Columbia, Michigan, Colorado, and Utah.

The US Rugby Foundation and USA Youth & High School Rugby have partnered in an effort to increase the number of high school rugby programs throughout the United States.

West Carroll has the quickest start going in the Elite Girls Rugby League, bumping out to 2-0 and tops in the EGRL Central.

Having already defeated Doylestown and North Bay, West Carroll has also beaten Charlotte Cardinals in a non-conference game, but faltered against a very tough Morris side.

For the first time ever the Southern California Interscholastic Rugby Federation has named all-league players for their girls competition.

Twelve players received recognition, with each receiving a badge for her letterman jacket denoting she is an all-league player.
