Fifty-two teams will play in the Kickoff Tournament in Sacramento this weekend.
Run by Ray Schwartz, the two-day tournament is a massive event to get the season started for teams from all over Northern California plus a few from elsewhere. This is the 33rd time that the KOT has been held.

The Rugby Arizona HS league starts action this weekend after a warmup tournament last week.
The Florida Youth Rugby Boys DI league is off and running this weekend, with nine games on the docket.
Orlando is the defending state champs and the Griffins start at the Westside Wolverines. Riviera Beach Maritime Academy logged the best record in the regular season, and will visit Jupiter, which was 2nd in the league last year. That's a high-profile early clash.
This weekend's Southern California Varsity White league got an early start as Wilson HS moved to 3-0 with a defeat of new program Saint Anthony.
Wilson handled a physically large and powerful Saint Anthony team with a solid defensive effort.
