North Carolina's clash between Myers Park and South Meck, which we previewed a while ago, finally gets played. It's a massive Friday Night rivalry match and should get a big crowd as these two schools are rivals in any sport, and both are having good seasons this winter.
The Long Beach Poly High School girls team is going from strength to strength in the Southern California Girls Open 7s Division.
Most of the group has been playing together since they were in the Belmont Shore Under 10s team, and how they play as a unit continues to owe a debt to that beginning.
The HS club scene is moving slowly, so we took our time going through the Week 3 of the rankings to be sure we didn't overlook stuff—yeah, that seems counterintuitive but it's actually easier to miss results when there are hardly any than when there are a lot.
It's time to keep a watchful eye on the Crean Lutheran Saints as the Southern California season picks up steam.
A relatively new program, Crean opened up their season with a close win over La Jolla, and then followed that up with a victory over Westview. This past weekend, the Saints beat the RC Bears 63-12 to move to 3-0.
As we warned you, things can move quite dramatically this early in the season.
This is especially true if we've got a ranking based in part on historical data. But it's also true when we've got a ranking based on just one or two results. Those results can be undercut by just one loss.
