High School Boys
St. Edward, Charlotte Tigers, Raleigh Redhawks, and Glen Ellyn played in mini-tournament at the University of Kentucky, with all four games being competitive.
St. Ed’s defeated the Charlotte Tigers 21-12 on Saturday and then Glen Ellyn out of Illinois 45-24 on Sunday. The Raleigh Redhawks also came out of the weekend 2-0 on a cold and windy weekend in Lexington, Ky.
Bishop Dwenger met up with Detroit Central Catholic Saturday at Adrian College and came away ith a well-taken 38-12 win.
Aspetuck came back from a 28-22 to defeat #16 Vienna in Virginia.
Aspetuck used their quick forwards to secure ball and recycle smartly as they built an early 8-0 lead. Using the power running of Matt Weiner and Amari Phillips, the Aspetuck forwards were quick to get over the ball and keep marching down the field.
New Orleans Jesuit continued on their way with yet another impressive showing, but perhaps a showing that was closer than the score might indicate.
The Blue Jays scored two late tries to pull away from a tenacious Brother Martin, winning 35-19 in a game that was 21-19 until the closing segment.
