The D1 Elite women's slate of games this past weekend resulted in two shutouts.
For Central Washington, the Wildcats defeated Grand Canyon 79-0 in Phoenix. Meanwhile, defending champions Lindenwood looked very impressive in a 27-0 defeat of longtime rivals Life University at Lindenwood's campus.
The College Rugby Association of America has confirmed that it will hold its annual fall classic December 2 at American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte, NC.
The 10,500-seat Memorial Stadium is located next to Central Piedmont Community College and is the home venue for the Charlotte Independence soccer team.
Harvard scored at the end of the game to win a key NIRA game on the road at Dartmouth, securing themselves as the #1 seed going into the playoffs.
This was a bit of a slog of a game in cold, wet conditions. While both teams wanted to play some wide open rugby, it wasn't easy to accomplish and as the game progressed it became more of a forwards' game.
D1 Elite is starting to heat up and it will be interesting to see how this league develops with new teams and, once again, a changed schedule.
Quinnipiac defeated Army 22-17 to tighten its grip on a semifinal place in the NIRA Women's NCAA DI competition.
