College Men
The University of Washington Huskies put up a bit of a marker over the weekend, beating Oregon 14-10 on a cold, wet day in Seattle.
We skipped some time on this partly because GRR was traveling so we couldn't do everything we wanted.
In the end what this allowed was a shakeout of the weird results that have bubbled through D1A.
Life has beaten Navy, to be sure, but overall Navy's results have impressed a bit more. Beating BYU helped. So Navy moves back into the #1 spot.
We skipped last week because it was a bit slow, but those results do have an impact.
Combine all of those with the play-in games here's what we have:
In a wildly entertaining and tense Mid American Conference final, Bowling Green came back from 20 points down to defeat the Louisville Cardinals 34-33 and win the conference championship.
These teams have played twice this season, both Bowling Green victories, and both by a single point. The earlier match ended up 28-27 for the Falcons.
Well it wasn't a complete Rugby East sweep, as Big Rivers runners-up Wheeling defeated Kutztown 34-28 Sunday to move on to the NCR D1 quarterfinals.
