GRR: HS Girls
The Mid-Atlantic Academy Championships (MAAC) kicks off tomorrow at Mount St. Mary's with eight U19 boys teams, three U16 boys teams, and two U19 girls teams competing.
These are select sides from various regions as well as MLR academy sides. This is an expansion, really, of a series of games from the fall between DC Young Glory, the NCYRU, and the Ohio Aviators.
We waited for a couple more competitions before finishing up these rankings, notably the last EGRL Showcase.
Aspetuck won that and moves up, which makes sense. Winners in Minnesota and Massachusetts move up.
We also bumped up the Montana champs because we got to watch those players in person as select-side players and, yes, there's a good standard there.
Here's our latest (fourth) list of HS Commits, and we've got a big haul for Ohio State.
As you will likely know, GRR's current World Headquarters are in Ohio, so we're familiar with many of these recruits from the Buckeye State to the Buckeyes. for this summer.
They left it late, but not too late.
The Washington Loggers scored twice in the waning moments to defeat Montana 12-5 in tje Girls U19 final of the Great Northwest Challenge Saturday in Missoula, Mont.
The two teams had been on a collision course throughout the weekend. Somewhat different, Montana and Washington featured some notable talent.
Washington will play Montana in the Great Northwest Challenge girls final Saturday afternoon.
All of that was finalized Saturday morning when Washington tool care of a lucky Arizona team 17-5.
The format of the event was for all eight (originally) teams and then six to play three pool matches, with the top two based on record making the final.
