GRR: USA Men 7s
The HSBC SVNS series can give and it can take away.
For the USA Men's team they rolled into the quarterfinals having gone 3-0 in Pool Play, only to be summarily turfed out by a team they had already beaten.
It took some old-school heroics from the old man and some from the younger guys too but the USA it 2-0 in Perth after Day One.
They defeated Australia and Ireland and are in excellent position to win their pool.
The Perth stop for the SVNS World Series will kick off on Australia day on the shores of the Indian Ocean and the USA teams will have their work cut out for them.
The USA Falcons ended up 1-4 at the Coral Coast 7s, but there's no head-hanging in the USA men's 7s program.
In all over the games, including their last one, a 14-12 loss in the Bowl semifinals, were competitive, and we would say three of the four losses were very close, with one being competitive but not quite "close."
