It’s job done for Day One at the Vancouver 7s for the USA women.
Things are going to same way they have all season for the USA Men’s 7s team.
They produce moments or periods of solid play, but just falter when it comes to the crux of the matter.
The Eagles looked solid against co-SVNS-leaders Spain and had the game at 7-7 when Lucas Lacamp scored an impressive try.
USA Women's 7s team Head Coach Emilie Bydwell can look at her squad for this weekend's Vancouver 7s and see eight players who have played in four or fewer tournaments.
It is an inexperienced team, but there is something familiar about it, too. The cultural buy-in of the new players, said Bydwell, has been outstanding.
The Vancouver 7s is the next stop on the SVNS World Series and we're getting into the serious part of the season.
Leading up to the World Championship tournament at the LAX SVNS at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif. May 3-4, Vancouver is tournament four out of the six (before LA).
Here's where we stand:
It was a rough Day Two for the USA teams in Perth.
The USA women lost twice, once to a very much in-form Canada to wrap up pool play 21-7, and then 19-7 to France.
As we have written before, France has often been the USA's toughest opponent.
