Are we clear on the top four teams in North Carolina's HS league already?
It might be a bit premature. Some teams might still be waiting for football players or wrestlers to join, so the fact that some teams have jumped out to an early running start isn't an indication (necessarily) of how the season will end.
Here are the standings right now:
South Meck moved to 2-0 and made an early statement in North Carolina's single-school league with an emphatic victory over Marvin Ridge.
There is still plenty of rugby to be played, but it's a solid start for South Meck as the Sabres beat Marvin Ridge 22-3.
Marvin Ridge kicked off the scoring with a 30-meter penalty kick. But South Meck answered fairly quickly.
It was very cold and windy in North Carolina but that didn’t chill the drama as two of the top school teams in the state faced off.
South Meck came into the game leading the league with a 4-0 record (tied with Hough), while Marvin Ridge was close with a 4-1 record.
