A new conference starts play this weekend as the Chesapeake gets on the field.
This will be a toss-up competition, with strong DII programs Towson and Salisbury taking on playoff-level DIAA teams (James Madison), championship-level NSCRO teams (Mount Saint Mary's), and solid DI teams, as well. It's a wild mix, and now we get to see how they all match up.
West Point flyhalf Jon Kim set a program record with seven conversions in Army’s 49-3 defeat of Stony Brook.
However, Kim’s kicking wasn’t the only thing that impressed. The convert from the Army football team (where he was the kicker) showed good all-around skills and ran the West Point offense smartly in the opening victory.
A week after suffering a big defeat at the hands of Notre Dame College, Wheeling Jesuit rebounded with a dramatic 43-39 win over newly-minted Chesapeake Conference team Mount Saint Mary's Saturday.
Notre Dame College defeated St. Bonaventure 49-7 Friday night in a rematch of a game SBU won 34-29 last year.
The West Point men defeated Stony Brook 49-3 Friday at Army's Anderson Rugby Complex.
