Jesuit High School of Sacramento defeated Sierra Foothills 36-24 in Northern California HS club Varsity Gold action Friday night.
Two of the top single-school teams in Northern California clashed Wednesday night in a midweek encounter as Jesuit took on Dixon.
Both were unbeaten in early play, so this was a big statement game for both.
It was a tough game, with Dixon causing Jesuit some trouble and forcing them into mistakes, but Jesuit was able to score twice to lead 14-5 at halftime.
Already we’ve got a big game in the Northern California single-school league as Jesuit takes on Dixon this week.
Jesuit is still the favored team in the league, but Dixon, after escaping Riordan a week ago, Dixon is in a position to challenge the big guys.
It was a relatively quiet opening weekend in Northern California’s Boys Varsity Single School this week, as only three games were on the docket and one ended in a forfeit.
De La Salle forfeited to Jesuit due to lack of players this early in the season. So that left Clayton Valley against Bellarmine, and Dixon against newcomers Riordan.
The first weekend of action in Northern California’s and meaningful wins and losses everywhere.
In the Club division (Varsity Gold), Danville, Granite Bay, Jesuit, Mother Lode, Sierra Foothills, North Bay, and Pleasanton all won
Granite Bay impressed with a 60-17 defeat of CK McClatchy.
