The battle for top spot in Northern California's boys HS club Sacramento conference is basically down to two teams now as Granite Bay defeated Sierra Foothills 27-5 Friday night at Granite Bay's field.
Jesuit of Sacramento improved to 5-0 in their defeat of one of their chief rivals in Northern California, Dixon.
Dixon dropped to 4-3.
Danville is solid atop the Northern California Varsity Gold Bay conference as they beat one of their biggest rivals for the HS club championship, Hayward, 45-19 this past weekend.
That Danville was able to win speaks to the team’s quality, but that they won by so much speaks even louder. Danville Head Coach Jon Straka said it was still a difficult contest.
It’s a busy weekend for Jesuit HS of Sacramento as they played Clayton Valley Thursday, and then look ahead to CK McClatchy and Lamorinda in the following days.
The Hayward HS team set down something of a marker early in the Northern California Varsity Gold season with a 20-12 defeat of rivals Peninsula Green this weekend.
