GRR: New England Wide Conference
As expected the New England Wide CRC is going to be very tight in Men's D2 college rugby.
While weather kiboshed Maine-Orono vs Norwich, the other games were played and were all very competitive.
Bentley pulled off a nicely-taken 31-10 win over Boston University and really, by NEWCRC standards, that's almost a blowout.
National Collegiate Rugby's summer has been marked by a series of women's conferences moving to operating under NCR.
The Norwich University Men's Rugby team took home their fifth straight 7s Conference Championship Saturday by sweeping all four games they played, outscoring opponents 126-17 in the process.
Top teams in various conferences are starting to lay claims to playoff spots in Men's D2 college rugby.
NEWCRCIn the New England-Wide Conference, here are the in-division standings:
New Hampshire took a huge step forward Saturday with a 22-12 defeat of a very good UMass Lowell team.
UNH, ranked #39 by GRR while Lowell was ranked #13, entered the game 2-1 in their conference after a somewhat humbling 29-7 loss to University of Vermont. But that result, said Coach Kyle Parker, was a bit of a wakeup call.
