GRR: Georgia Youth Rugby
Rugby Georgia started its 2nd half of the spring 15s season after The Phoenix and Barbarians returned from the Carolina Ruggerfest and others returned from a weekend in Vegas as members of the USA South Panther’s 7s squads.
Going into the weekend the Phoenix were undefeated and in first place, followed by the Titans, Trojans and Barbarians.

On Saturday, Phoenix Alpharetta played South Greenville in an eagerly anticipated meeting of ranked high school clubs.
Atlanta Youth Rugby (AYR) recently held its inaugural banquet in the Piedmont Room at the Park Tavern. Among the 160+ attendees were more than 90 youth players in uniform, from AYR as well as from neighboring clubs from Roswell, Newtown, and Alpharetta.
The much anticipated league matchup of Phoenix and Trojans took place at a dry but cold North Park on Friday evening. This was a re-match of the 2015 state championship game won narrowly by Phoenix in a thriller.
Rugby Georgia opened its regular season this past Friday with a restructured format including both JV and Varsity boys teams; three middle school teams were also in action.
