GRR: Deep South
The USA Rugby South U19 all-star program has finalized its squad to play in the Rugby Americas North (what used to be NACRA) U19 Championships.
It's been a wild season in the Deep South Men's DII Conference, in part because traveling or the weather have been tough on some teams.
Games that were postponed and not made up resulted in a forfeit loss for both teams, which is why the standings below have more losses than wins - three games results in double-forfeits.
With an impressive 66-0 shut out of Troy University, the University of Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns are now in position to challenge for the Deep South conference title.
"We are finally getting better chemistry within the team," said Cajun player Rod Blouin. "We're starting to play more for each other."
Spring Hill is at the top of the Deep South Men’s DII Conference with three dominant victories, and a big part of the small Catholic School’s success is No. 8 Jacob Campos.
The power-running forward scored three tries in this past weekend’s defeat of South Alabama, and, says Head Coach Justin Goonan, he is more than that.
Three victories, three blowouts for Spring Hill in the Deep South, with the latest being a dominate 51-3 decision over ranked South Alabama.
