Gamebreakers DIA Rugby Last Weekend
We're back with Gamebreakers for DIA. Here is who got noticed from February 8.
Jack Springer, North Texas
The powerful UNT lock thundered through for UNT’s opening try and set the physical tone with several big carries and clearouts in his team’s 31-19 defeat of Baylor.
Nico Gilli, San Diego State
The Aztec scrumhalf rescued a rough day for San Diego State, converting both os his team’s tries, and adding two penalty goals, including one with five minutes to go that salvaged a 20-20 tie with UC Santa Barbara.
Lucas Bartzis, Arizona
The Wildcats’ go-to man for a key try, the center scored and was hugely influential on defense as Arizona beat Grand Canyon.
Christopher Oke, Oklahoma
The OU tighthead scored a try and was a key component of the Sooners’ tight play as they defeated Texas.
Keanu Andrade, Cal
Andrade came on in the second half when Cal’s game against UCLA was still a bit of a question-mark. He then scored three tries to blow the game open.
Tyren Al-Jiboori, Lindenwood
Part of the Al-Jiboori rugby dynasty, Tyren was a defensive force at outside center, paying in some massive hits and setting the tone in a 38-20 victory for Lindenwood over Arkansas State.
