GRR: Rankings
Not a lot of D2 games this week but there were a few.
Northern Iowa goes 1-2 in the Middle of the Map tournament but that wasn't a bad performance at all. All of their opponents were D1 teams and they were competitive in all games. So, yes, it's a tournament (so not super rankings important) but still good enough.
OK, we won't keep you in suspense, there are no changes.
There are no changes in our D1A rankings.
There will be more games as we go on, but right now, we didn't see anything (including Navy's loss to Trinity) that screamed "Change It!"
So, really, this is just for your records.
A few outbreaks of the latest version of COVID meant for a couple of canceled games.
In addition, lightning kiboshed a game or two. Still we got to see some results and also two warmup tournaments that give us a little insight into how those teams look.
Wow what an interesting week in Men's college rugby.
While our top two were not in the thick of it—Brown played a preseason game where they were heavily favored, and St. Bonaventure played their alumni—many others were. This big game so far was Notre Dame College at Thomas More, and NDC came away with a quite impressive road win and they, of course, move up.
We didn't update the D1A rankings this week because there were so few games.
But we will update weekly starting next week and don't worry, this past weekend's results will be factored in.
Regardless, here's GRR's commentary on the competitive balance in D1A.
