CRAA unleashed their first rankings and they do take GRR's rankings into account but also use their own algorithm.

So here that is:

So, yeah, there are a few differences but nothing too massive.

For us, ranking the West Coast teams when they start playing in October or November is tough, because those games are very preseason. It's easy to get caught up with basing a ranking on a preseason game (or a result in the Storer Classic, for example) and we're trying very hard to avoid that. Having said that, UCLA's preseason games, despite being played with mixed-up lineups, have been quite good. Good enough for us to put them in the Top 25.

With a few games coming up for UCLA, Cal Poly, and Saint Mary's, we might see movement (although for Saint Mary's it's unlikely). UCLA's game against Oxford University will be really interesting, but maybe not a major rankings mover. We do have the CRAA Fall Classic, which will include some bowl games involving the likes of Michigan State, Mount St. Mary's, Ohio State, Penn State, and more. That will give us some insight into where these teams compare. We suspect Penn State is stronger than their record indicates.
